We had some extreme heat and no rain the last couple of weeks, so things were stressed, but it has cooled off a bit now. Your advice is good. Do a bit each day. It’s amazing how much better things go, plus you keep an eye on pests and disease that way. I’m very interested in the results of your copper pipe experiment!

Your wax is to hot when putting in the fragrance 160-165. And pour wax when its about 150°, use a double boiler to melt wax, oven is to hot.

I planted my onion bulbs, end pointing up, and put plastic forks around them to keep the deer and rabbits out

I heard that onions would keep pests away so put them all around my raised beds. The deer loved them! No onions for me.

The morning walk thru is the best way to start the day. To me it’s the second best part of gardening (#1 being a successful harvest). It just de-stresses life. I really try to prioritize weeding the way you do, although I will devote more time if we have had a nice soaking rain because it’s so easy then! Your tips are all solid. Slow and steady is best, although I’ve certainly had seasons of life where I had to do everything on the weekends. Bottom line is not to stress over the process. Do the best you can and enjoy!

All of mine stopped laying. Figured it’s my fault so I’ve done everything everyone recommends. Cleaning coop and nesting boxes every few days. Letting them free range for most of the day… Fake eggs to help encourage where to lay… Curtains on the nesting boxes…

I planted about 5 different types of microgreens. They are now ready to harvest. My question is, do I throw away the remaining of plant after harvesting? Or will it grow again after cutting?

This happened just as spring started. I hope they dont die. My first flock got killed by a weasel first and finished off by a racoon. I built a whole new coop and raised more the next year. They took so long to raise. I hope they don't just drop dead.

Great tour. Glad you were able to rework your big garden. I understand the idea of setting your objectives for the year. Last year was my first in retirement, and I was determined to actually eat, process or store all of my garden production. In the past my garden was a hobby and stress relief, but there was a lot of waste because I had no time to deal with the harvest. I was successful last year, but that did result in a goal something like yours for this year. I’m not dabbling so much and sticking with tried and true varieties for eating, storage or sharing. No matter what, a new garden season brings hope and blessings!

I have my own cleaning business too. I don’t want to use synthetic fragrances that are poisonous to health. I’ve been adding lemongrass essential oil to unscented cleaning detergent. I will try making my own from scratch. I have rosacea and have noticed a drastic reduction in redness since I ceased using poisonous synthetic fragrences.
